So what’s behind the departure, announced this week, of WLP Restructuring (WLPR) co-founder Alan Walker?
WLP co-founder Glenn Livingstone told iNO yesterday Walker’s “desire to leave WLP and focus on other opportunities was respectful and our parting was amicable”.
Fair enough. But what “other opportunities”?
On December 3 last year Walker registered Asset Restructuring Group Pty Ltd (ARG).
A February 1 change of address notice filed with ASIC shows that he’s taken almost 100 appointments with him.
That suggests existing obligations rather than other opportunities will be Walker’s immediate focus, obligations he must now process out of a serviced co-working facility in Martin Place unless ARG is about to sign a lease, and with that many appointments no one would be surprised if Walker had his eye on some of the WLPR staff familiar with those files.
Come to think of it, with almost 100 fewer files maybe WLPR is looking to lighten payroll?
We sent some questions to Walker this morning, asking why he would leave what appears to be a well-functioning practice to essentially start over.
No response was received by iNO’s publication deadline.
